Corvette Racing Continues To Dominate
Since Corvette Racing made its competition debut in 1999, the factory Chevrolet team has emerged as America’s premier production sports car racing team. The drivers, mechanics, engineers, support personnel and team managers of Corvette Racing have made everyone at Chevrolet proud. The coverage that the Corvette Racing team receives has propelled Corvette and Chevrolet onto the world stage. It took part in the American Le Mans Series in the GTS Class and competed in five 24 Hours of Le Mans races as a Corvette Racing entry. As for Corvette Racing's immediate future, GM's contract with Pratt & Miller runs through the 2010 season, meaning Corvettes are likely to continue racing for at least that long.
The Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC), the leader in bringing green fuels to motorsports, contracted KL Process Design Group to provide the cellulosic E85 racing ethanol used by Corvette Racing. Of course, performance is what counts in racing, so E85 ethanol's higher octane rating than gasoline wasn't overlooked by the Corvette Racing engineers. Ron Fellows is a charter member of the championship-winning Corvette Racing team. In the late '90s Fellows became the primary development driver for GM Racing's Corvette C5-R program.
