Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 - Amazing
Unique to the Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 model are ''427'' hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette assembly plant manager who is retiring after 15 years on the job, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. A cold air scoop in front of the hood and a large air extractor located behind the wheel are functional features that mark the Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 apart. Wider rear fenders with flares cover the massive rear tires, while a rear spoiler both houses the central high mounted stop light and provides sufficient down force to balance the front splitter without adversely affecting aerodynamic drag. Cosmetic touches include hood and fascia graphics that hark back to the style of the "stinger" hood design and graphics that were offered with 1967 models equipped with the 427 engine. The Chevrolet Mark IV V-8 debuted in the Corvette in 1965 and was dubbed the big-block, because it was physically larger in all respects than Chevy's other V-8 engine, which became known as the small-block. In '65, the big-block was offered in a 396-cubic-inch displacement, with a maximum rating of 425 gross horsepower (317 kW). The 427's combination of small-block revability (with redlines as high as 6500 rpm) and classic big-block torque made the 427 the most cherished engine among Corvette fans. After four years, in response to tighter emissions regs, Chevy enlarged the 427 to make the slower-revving, longer-stroke 454. The big-block engines appeared in what would become among the most collectible cars of the era. Without a doubt, the Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06 will be a model we fawn over at concourse events, and hopefully vintage.

The LS7 shares the same basic Gen IV V-8 architecture as the Corvette’s 6.0-liter LS2, but it uses a different cylinder block casting with pressed-in steel cylinder liners to accommodate the engine’s larger diameter, 4.125-inch (104.8 mm) cylinder bores. Also unique to this model are "427"hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette assembly plant manager who is retiring after 15 years on the job, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Crystal Red Metallic with a black, stinger striped hood is the only color offered. In tribute to the man who poured his passion into the Corvette for 15 years, Cooksey was handed the keys to the first car built.
