Callaway Corvettes - The Supercharged Corvette
One of the core components to the Callaway Corvettes performance is the Eaton/Magnuson supercharger that helps dramatically boost the already amazing Corvette horsepower to a staggering 580 horsepower with 510 lb. The performance that results from this incredible boost in power is a mere 3.7 second to 60 and only 11.6 second to 120 miles per hour. Callaway's intake system for the 2005-2007 C6 LS2 Corvette, flows 34% more air than the factory system and adds 15hp! Smooth internal surface with CAD-designed contours; engineered to maximize laminar air flow.
Adding a supercharger is the preferred method Callaway uses to up the power on the Callaway Corvettes to around 613 bhp on the base 2007 and earlier 6.0 liter LS2 C6. On this years (2008) new LS3 base 6.2 liter engine power output, with the blower, is a bit less at 580 horsepower, but Callaway says both models will do an 11.1 second quarter mile. Adding these two components netted us a 9.90 hp and 15.10 lb-ft of torque improvement. We highly recommend these products to help your C5 move more air! Add a short-throw shifter and Severe-duty Clutch and flywheel assemblies.
Starting with GM`s new 6.2 liter LS3 engine, an Eaton/Magnuson Roots-style supercharger elevates the car`s output to 580 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque with an estimated maximum velocity of 200mph. Other Callaway Corvette components include an air/liquid inter cooler, upgraded fuel system with high flow injectors, Callaway "Honker" cold air intake and a custom computer tune. Carrying a level of distinctiveness and style not associated with a production Corvette, the Callaway C16 offers performance and exclusivity beyond that offered by the 2008 Corvette. Signature Callaway Double-D exhaust system, a new Callaway Corvette's hood painted to match with a Silver power bulge and Supercharged insignias and a Callaway side and rear badging complete the Callaway distinctive look. Carbon-ceramic brakes, close ratio transmissions, custom differentials, and a host of track-specific tidbits can also be added. Though Callaway Corvettes do not carry factory RPO codes, they will be sold through select Chevrolet dealerships.
Six-speed manual or paddle-shift automatic transmissions are available with both of the Callaway Corvettes supercharged 6.0-liter engines, the least powerful of which produces 560 horsepower at 6200 rpm and 529 pound-feet of torque at 4750 rpm. The upgraded version generates a massive 616 horsepower and 582 pound-feet of torque and is said to be capable of propelling the paddle-shifted cabrio from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds, with quarter-mile times in the low-11-second range on the way to a top speed of just over 200 mph. Also interesting is that all the added performance is achieved without draining literally fuel economy, which stays near that of the standard Corvette at 18 mpg city and 28 highway. Works with all OEM engine management sensors.
